Playing with Dolphins

Merry Christmas everyone!

While taking advantage of a short break in the weather, a group of dolphins gave my dad and I a great show while out testing Garage Sail as a fishing boat.  While motoring along at 5 knots, they hung out with us for around 5 minutes, before they went off on their way.  With the tiller locked straight ahead, really cool how they stayed right with us.  Click on the photo for a larger view.

As for the fishing, there is plenty of room for two to fish.  Best using relatively short rods of 5-6′, as they are easier to maneuver around the various rigging, as well as being able to fit down below in the cabin underneath the cockpit seats.  Some rod holders mounted to the stern posts are also helpful.  Dad caught what may be the first fish caught from a CLC Pocketship.  So proud!!  Reeling them up, he thought he had something, but couldn’t be sure…  The long skinny guys had amazingly large sharp teeth.  I tried using them as live bait, with no luck.
