Coming together…

Thought I needed a monkey to climb in the loosely supported boat to stitch some of the inner floor ribs in place, but a former ballet dancer helper worked out even better.

Really quite a tug getting the two floor strips to come together.  Even with two people was not easy.  Still have a few gaps in the front and along the front and side of the keelson… not sure if I  need to cinch them down further or not.  Made a little alignment jig as shown in the manual to bring the bottom and sides into alignment.  Kinda looks like a frankenboat taking over the garage.

Keel getting closer and closer…

The manual mentions to coat the bulkheads and floor ribs with epoxy and sand them down so they are ready to paint as they are going to be a pain trying to sand while in the boat.  However, since only the floor ribs were shown in the photo in the manual in this step, that is all I did.  So now I am going back and finishing the rest of the bulkhead with epoxy.   3 coats of epoxy on each side – going to delay the rest of the boat assembly for a few days.  Radiused the inside edges of bulkhead 2 with my new router, sanded smooth, then covered in epoxy.
